The Stripe App (CF's direct Stripe integration) with Stripe Tax is a huge help for automatically handling the complex international tax calculations.
BUT...
The Checkout
Currently, everybody can only check out as an individual.
Allow customers to choose to check out as a business as well—filling in their Tax ID (e.g. VAT number, etc.) and company name.
And...
It'd be great if those company details would be passed on to Stripe Tax for tax calculation and would also show up on the invoice.
Why?
By EU VAT law...
ALL non-EU suppliers—US, UK, Australia, etc...
  1. When selling to an EU-registered business (B2B): The supplier doesn’t need to add VAT. The buyer applies the “reverse charge” in their country.
  2. When selling to an EU consumer (B2C): The supplier must charge VAT at the rate of the customer’s country and remit it (typically via the Non-Union OSS or local VAT registration).
Stripe Tax and we need to be able differentiate between B2B and B2C customers so we can calculate and collect tax correctly.
