filter a workflow based on survey responses
complete
Jason Buckner
When a survey is complete we can trigger a workflow, however it would be ideal to be able to filter on responses and trigger different emails and workflows based on the responses.

Hey Jason Buckner Thank you for your feedback and adding this request. That's a great suggestion; to add specific answers to the workflow triggers. We'll be sure to keep this open for others to vote on and for our dev team for review.
However, in the meantime, this is already possible by the use of split by answer and redirect to a URL and there you can trigger a workflow by pageview.
Here's a walkthrough video to help you out with that: https://www.loom.com/share/8c2d1b9616b8489e876d3aeafdec6062?sid=d7372564-3038-4626-bf28-f339254345d4
I hope this helps! If you have any questions about this or need any help with it, please reach out to our support team for help.

David Lamoureux (Product Support Analyst) Thanks, and yes I had the exact same thought as you, however support told me, (i havent run a test yet) that because the survey isnt actually collecting the data into the contact record, it doesnt have the email address cookied in the right manner to actually trigger the workflow, so unless we actually get them to opt in first, the page view option wont work?

Hey Jason Buckner: thanks for your response, they are correct on the optin part, but for the collecting the data to the contact record, it will save the answers to the contact record as long as you set the answers to a custom attribute. I hope that solves the case for you.

David Lamoureux (Product Support Analyst) So to clarify triggering on page load wont then work or will then work?
D
David Lamoureux (Product Support Analyst)
Jason Buckner: As long as you collect their email before it goes to the "trigger on page load" page, then yes, it will work. Just make sure to set the email in the survey to the email contact attribute.
