In the meantime, you can do this today using a third-party commenting service plus the HTML / JS element in the page editor. Set it up once on your blog post template, and comments show up automatically on every post, each with its own thread.
- Pick a commenting service that gives you an embed code. Disqus has a free plan (with ads, or ad-free from $12/mo) and Hyvor Talk is a privacy-focused option from $12/mo. Both include moderation and spam filtering. Grab the embed code from your chosen service.
- In your workspace, open Site & Blog > Edit Site, then in the Theme editor, click into the Blog Post section to open your post template.
- Add an HTML / JS element (under Misc) below the Post Body, open the Code Editor, paste your embed code, and save the template.
- Open a published post in a normal browser tab to confirm the comment box loads. The widget only shows on the live blog, not the editor canvas.
One tip: configure the service to use the page's URL path as the identifier so each post gets its own thread even when visitors arrive with tracking parameters in the link.

Add the ability to comment on a blog

I can't believe this is not already a request. One of the powers of having a blog is interaction with your community, which means they need to be able to comment on a blog post.

"Vote for this feature. It helps understand your audience, improve SEO, and make the site more interactive. It also triggers the social proof mental trigger."

When our site was hosted on Wordpress, we had comments enabled for our blog. The blog posts that got the most conversation were ranked highest, with many of them showing up at the #1 featured post in Google search results. Much of our traffic comes to us organically through search and we focus heavily on SEO in our business. Having comments would help us to stay a step ahead of the competition. It also allows us to create better content as people can ask clarifying questions regarding the topic that we've written about.

Certainly a central feature of a blog, since it allows your audience to engage with you, the content creator, and vice versa it gives You the content creator opportunity to engage with your audience.
Ultimately a feature that helps build and strengthen the relationship with your audience. I´m surprised that CF hasn´t implemented that immediately in the blog function.

Would LOVE to see this included without having to add third party tools. Definitely much needed for standard blog functionality that an audience and client expects. When I explained adding a blog to a client, they automatically assumed this functionality was included. I was able to navigate that, but it would be beneficial as part of the blog to allow people to comment.
I have guest bloggers for a client site so each blogger will drive their own audience to review and those people at a minimum would want to comment the person did a great job and otherwise engage.
The audience is reading and will want to react in real time on the page, trying to get them to move to another platform to document those reactions will result in a lot of lost engagement.
I would much rather the engagement is on the blog then mention it on other platforms, this would also drive more people to CF and keep them on the platform demonstrating the great functionality of the platform which can result in converting more affiliate buyers too as a bonus :-)

P.S. would be cool is this platform could handle the apostrophe in my last name O apostrophe Leary LOL ... not Donna O'Leary LOL (I realize this is a canny app you likely do not have a lot of control over :-)
