Add text only version for each email
Gabor Toth
Emails sometimes arrive to spam. One of the thing to improve is to have a text only version with each outgoing emails - campaign and workflow.

Add plain text version field to the email broadcast editor (or auto-generate it)
Mark Harbert
Summary:
The plain text version field is currently only accessible inside Email Templates under Workspace Settings. When a broadcast is built without a template, ClickFunnels ships a literal "PLAIN TEXT VERSION" placeholder string as the text/plain part of the multipart email. This shows up in raw headers and is hurting deliverability and Promotions tab placement for users sending to Gmail and Yahoo.
The problem:
- Most ESPs (SendGrid, ConvertKit, ActiveCampaign, Beehiiv) either auto-generate a plain text version from the HTML or expose a plain text tab directly in the email editor.
- ClickFunnels does neither in the broadcast editor. Users have to know to create a template, save the broadcast as a template, then go back into Workspace Settings and manually add plain text on the template details page.
- Most users never find this. They send broadcasts assuming the plain text part is being handled, when in reality the system is sending an empty placeholder string.
- Gmail uses the plain text part as a legitimacy signal. An empty or placeholder plain text version contributes to Promotions tab classification and can hurt inbox placement over time.
What I'm asking for:
Option A (best): Add a Plain Text tab or toggle directly inside the broadcast email editor, alongside the design view. Let users either write the plain text version or click a button to auto-generate it from the HTML.
Option B (minimum): Auto-generate the plain text version from the HTML body whenever the plain text field is empty. Never ship the literal string PLAIN TEXT VERSION as the actual text/plain content of an email.
Why this matters:
Email deliverability is crucial these days. Gmail and Yahoo tightened sender requirements significantly in 2024, and the plain text part is one of several signals they evaluate. Fixing this would quietly improve inbox placement for every user sending broadcasts through ClickFunnels, with zero action required on their end.
Thanks for considering this.

Yes! This would help with email deliverability. It’s not to make the whole email text, but to include a text version behind the scenes.
